Halal Dim Sum in Hongkong

Finally we found the place where we could eat halal dim sum in Hongkong! And even better, the place is only minutes away from JJ Hotel, the hotel we stayed in Hongkong during our trip with kiddos. The canteen located on the 5th floor of  Masjid Ammar and Osman Ramju Sadick Islamic Centre in Wanchai. The canteen opens at 10 am and served dim sum until 3 pm.

We came early at 10 am, as I have been reading review that their service is not that great during peak hours. The resto was still empty, there were only some people enjoying their dim sum for breakfast.

We ordered five portions, two of them were to be taken away. Along with the chinese tea, we paid HKD 71 (very affordable by Hongkong standard). The dim sum looks the same but taste different than dim sum I eat in Indonesia. But of course as it was our first time ever eating halal dim sum in Hongkong, we like it so much.

On the other day after visiting Ocean Park, we had early dinner at the canteen. Other than dim sum they also serve halal Cantonese food, and claimed to be the only halal Cantonese restaurant in Hongkong. We ordered fried rice for our kiddos and rice with sour fish. Both taste ok, I prefer the rice with sour fish rather than the fried rice.

The canteen serves heavy meal starting 11 am. Before 11 am they only had dim sum for breakfast. The Masjid is one minute away from The Charterhouse hotel , it is located at the back of the hotel. And remember to come between 10 am and 3 pm to try the halal dim sum.

Hehe..
