It was hard to find a hotel in Lembang two weeks before our departure, and during the school holiday period. There are so many hotels in Lembang, but only few available on our selected dates. Having seen some of the hotels' website, we choose Villa Diamond Lembang, located inside Kampung Gajah. Our main reason was because it's a new hotel, so we expected to have at least a clean hotel.

After spending a half day at Lembang Floating Market, we went to Villa Diamond, paid the entrance fee to Kampung Gajah (IDR 20,000 per person on weekends and IDR 10,000 for the car) which was refundable up to 3 person for guests staying at deluxe room. Whilst for guests staying at superior room, Villa Diamond will only refund 2 person entrance fee. We only had to pay for our first time entrance to the hotel area. After we got our key room, we didn't have to pay the entrance fee to Kampung Gajah anymore.
The lobby area is compact with only few chairs. It is linked directly to the dining room having a water dispenser, very useful to make our cup noodle.

We were glad to see our room condition, the most important thing: it's clean:) We had a balcony with a great view. Although the small size of the room, the bed was enough for the four of us:p We choose deluxe room because the bed size is bigger than the superior room. It cost IDR 600,000 per night including breakfast for two person. The superior room cost IDR 350,000, if you have only one kid, the superior room will be ok for you.

We went to the Children Palyground area of Kampung Gajah located only 10 minutes walk from the hotel. We paid IDR 20,000 per person (adult also has to pay the same amount) to play inside the playground. We didn't go to other places in Kampung Gajah, as we didn't visit Lembang to play there.

The next morning, we could see beautiful sunrise from our balcony. Oh and of course we enjoyed the fresh air of Lembang:)

The breakfast was basic, they only prepared Nasi Goreng, so better to take a drive to Pasar Lembang and have your traditional breakfast there. You will need a car if you want to stay here, it's not easy to get public transportation around the hotel.
It's a family hotel, so there will be kids running around the hotel area early in the morning when they wake up (including our kiddos). If you are looking for a quiet hotel, this is not that kind of hotel. But if you plan to spend a whole day in Kampung Gajah, this might be a perfect hotel for you.
A room rate for IDR 600,000 was way too expensive for the room we got, but if you pay only IDR 350,000 for the superior room, that will be a very reasonable price. Lesson learned, next time I have to plan at least 3 months before going to Lembang to get a better hotel with an affordable rate in Lembang.
