I have passed Parkroyal hotel many times, and always wanted to stay at their hotel located on Beach Road. Unfortunately with the hike of Singapore Dollar exchange rate to Indonesia Rupiah, I choose budget hotel when I travel on my own to Singapore.
So this time I had another training in Singapore and my friend who was organizing my flight and accommodation asked what hotel I choose. I didn't had a chance to browse anything, and suddenly this Parkroyal on Kicthener Road came across my mind. Not only it was near the training venue but also it was only one minute away to Mustafa shopping center, which opens 24 hours:p

I arrived at midday, and saw many tourists from India in the hotel's lobby. This was as expected from the review I read on tripadvisor. I only read the review one day prior to my departure to Singapore, just to adjust my expectation about this hotel. The lobby was nice and modern, and all the staff were really helpful. I handover my hotel voucher, paid a deposit, and they sent me to my room. The room with breakfast cost USD 187 per night (incl.tax).

My room located at the end of the hall, and having a corner shape, which was a little bit strange. I had the bed and toilet on the left side of the door, and the rest was on the right side. It was a spacious room for a Singapore standard.

Swimming pool is located on the 6th floor together with the fitness center. It was a huge pool with a separate pool for kids. It was a really nice place to relax after your shopping day.
Location
Parkroyal on Kitchener Road located just opposite of one shopping mall called City Square. It also has a Toys R Us inside and not too mention a free kids playground.

Fareer Park MRT station is 100 meters away, and bus stop (bus stop name: Bef Tai Hote Hotel) is also really near the hotel. You can take bus 130 from Bugis Station to the bus stop nearest to the hotel. If you wish to travel with the bus from the hotel, you could walk to Jalan besar (around 10 minutes walk to the bus stop), and from there you can take Bus 65 to Orchard Road, Bus 147 to Clarke Quay, Bus 67 to Singapore Botanical Garden, Bus 130 to Bugis Station.
Budget Hotel Near Mustafa Little India
I have never stayed at Tai Hoe Hotel, but this hotel is being renovated and located one minute away from Parkroyal on Kitchener Road and also from Mustafa Shopping Center. I might choose this hotel if I travel to Singapore nxt time.

Parkroyal on Kitchener Road is a really recommended hotel to stay if you want to be close with the shopping area. Mustafa is famous for its cheap price, I always buy lots of chocolates there.
If you stay with your family here, you can walk to Mustafa after your kids are asleep. So you can manage the time to go to the theme park with your kids during the day, and shop at midnight :)

aku udah pernah nginep di Tai Hoe, Mbak.. kemarin mid Jan 2014. dari luar memang kliatan baru renov. tapi dalemnya tetep kuno. lantainya agak lengket, di atas kasur ada cermin cobaaa.. hayooo! wkwkwkwkwk.. kamarnya kecil (khas singapore), nggak ada teko pemanas air, kamar mandi kecil tapi shower air panas stabil dan powerfull, no toilettries amenities (cuma dispenser sabun aja). ya kalo buat tidur doank sih emang lumayan bangeettt.. apalagi deket banget sama MRT, mal deket, kopitiam nyebrang doank.
