The reason why we decided to spend a long weekend in Langkawi was because of the Langkawi Sky Bridge and the its Sky Cab. But we found out that the sky bridge have been closed for sometime due to maintenance and safety reason. Of course we were disappointed, but when we got there, I felt very fortunate that the skybridge was closed. I will tell you later why.
The cable car station located in the Oriental Village, a touristy place where we could find restaurants, souvenir shops, and also playgrounds for kiddos. There's a lake in the middle which made this place more beautiful.
When we parked our rented car, we saw two eye catching amphibious vehicles. Yes it was the duck tour we usually see in Singapore, and it was about to leave the Oriental Village within 30 minutes. There were not many guests (yet) that morning, so we tried to bargain the price of the Duck Tour in Oriental Village. At the end, we had to pay RM 50 for the four of us (normal price is RM 38 and RM 22 per adult and child respectively). The tour last 45 minutes, and for the price we paid, it was worth it.
We walked to the cable car station, purchased a return ticket which cost RM 30 for adult and RM 20 for child. It took only 10 minutes queue to get on the cable car. Wow it was a thrilling experience, and we enjoyed great views of the sea and forest.
Then I saw the Sky Bridge, I couldn't imagine how scary it would be to walk on the bridge! See, I was fortunate that it was closed:p
There are two Sky Cab stations, we only stopped at the last station. We bought Maggie Cup Noodle and enjoyed it at the top of Langkawi. We also saw a sign telling visitors that from that point, we could enjoy the best view of sunset in Langkawi. Well, if you plan to visit the Sky Cab station during sunset, don't forget to bring a jacket, for sure you will need one.
For us, the Langkawi cable car was the most attractive thing to do in Langkawi. I still remember how beautiful it was to see Langkawi from the cable car. A tip from us: if you plan to visit Langkawi, you have to ensure that you will not visit the cable car during its maintenance as it will not be operated the whole day.
