Bon Cafe : Where to Eat Steak in Surabaya

Where to eat delicious steak with affordable price in Surabaya? My friend introduced me to Bon Cafe, he said that the steak at Bon Cafe is recommended. I tried once, and now the resto is on the top list of "my must visit place" in Surabaya.

Aside from the steak, I like the ambiance of the resto. Yes, including a very classic red and white table cloth. The last time, we visited their branch at Jalan Raya Kupang Indah for dinner.

Hi there Mr.Chef :)

Surabaya Food Street at Midnight: Pasar Genteng Night Market

Is there really a night market in Pasar Genteng Surabaya?

Actually I am not sure to call it a night market. We visited this place after I picked up Rene at the Surabaya airport. As I extended my business trip, Rene came to Surabaya and flown with "an after office hour flight" on Friday night. We were looking for a place to have our late supper, and after googling "wisata kuliner malam di Surabaya" (Surabaya's culinary at night) we decided to go to Pasar Genteng.

Food stalls in front of Pasar Genteng greeted us warmly with the fire from each stall. It was almost midnight but the area was still crowded. The variety of food confused us, which one to choose?

Welcome to Pasar Genteng at midnight:)

Zangrandi Ice Cream Surabaya

We picked our fave spot in Surabaya to have ice cream after exploring food in Madura. Yes it was the famous ice cream Zangrandi located just beside Garden Palace Hotel Surabaya.

We love the old feel of Zangrandi, the old chairs, and of course the ice cream. The taste remind us to Rasa Ice Cream in my hometown Bandung. Both sold ice cream with old recipe.

A Half Day Exploring Bangkalan - Madura Island

After all this time, we finally had the opportunity to explore food in Madura:) With Fave Mex Surabaya as our base, we rented an Avanza with a special request: drop off at the hotel and pick up at the airport. With the help of our friend @alisahaqiqi, we managed to get a rented car which fit our need.

We started our Madura trip early in the morning, Suramadu was still empty, so we could slow down our car and took pictures:) It was only 30 minutes away from our hotel in Surabaya to get to Madura Island. Thanks to the nice traffic on a Saturday morning.

Kediri, Lovely Town with Delicious Food

I was so excited that I had the opportunity to visit Kediri for the second time, after my last visit about 10 years ago. This time I had only two days in Kediri and its surrounding, and between the meetings, we managed to enjoy food in Kediri. I mean lots of food!

We left Surabaya after our lunch and it was a 3 hours drive to Kediri. We knew that we had reached Kediri after seeing a huge Gudang Garam factory. I noticed new malls are now available in town, but the city is somehow still not that crowded. My wisata kuliner in Kediri started with Sate Pak Siboen. And as a satay freak, I am telling you this Sate Pak Siboen was really good!

Sate Klopo Ondomohen Surabaya

I have been to Surabaya many times, but this was the first time I tried "Sate Klopo" and I fell in love with this satay! Well yes I am a satay lover and I might say this is one of the most delicious satay that I have ever tasted. The satay are covered with coconut before being grilled (that's why it is called Sate Klopo).

Sate Klopo Ondomohen that I tried is the one belongs to Ibu Asih, located on Jalan Walikota Mustajab. From their wall I read that they have their own ambulance that is utilized to help people. Way to go Ibu Asih :)

This Sate Klopo Ondomohen is a must when you're visiting Surabaya..

Thanks to Pak Yus and Mba Dina from MPM Motor who have introduced this delicious food:)
