When I was looking for a hotel in Sydney for our 2014 New Years family trip, I was frustrated to find a hotel for 2 adults and 2 person under AUD150 per night. It was just impossible to find that price in Sydney, especially for New Years period.
I discussed it with Mr.Husband, then we switched to look for an apartment using Airbnb website. Food in Sydney is expensive, so we need to cook. An apartment with kitchen will solve our problem. And with our budget, we tried to find an apartment outside Sydney, located near the beach. Yes our Kiddos love beach!
It was in March 2014 when I look for our accommodation for December 2014. I sent email to the owner of the apartment (named Nicholas) and he replied my email, "It is so early, usually I get booking 3 months prior to the date of reservation" Hahaha.. a family traveling means a well preparation.
Nicholas' apartment was my first choice, and when he replied my message asking whether his apartment was available, I booked it directly, and had to pay in advance to Airbnb. This is the link to his apartment: Nicholas Apartment in Randwick.

We stayed in a residential area, which gave us the opportunity to feel how it is to live in Sydney. Our apartment located in a building, which consists of some units of apartment. It is located on Daintrey Crescent Road, a very quite neighborhood.

The surrounding area was really nice |
Everyday we walked to the nearest bus stop, which was only 5 minutes away from Nicholas' apartment. There were direct bus from the bus stop to Sydney CBD (and vice versa). The journey took about 30 minutes.

There were two bedrooms, one bathroom, a laundry room at Nicholas' apartment. It was what I was looking for, and above all, it cost around AUD150 per night, perfect!

Our Kiddos stayed at the second bedroom. There's a sofa bed, where they could sleep together.

We cooked pasta, prepared bread, and of course cooked Indomie at Nicholas' kitchen. By the way Indomie in Sydney is AUD5 for 5 packs.

Nicholas' apartment has a shortcut to get to the Coogee beach. It took only a 10 minutes walk from Nicholas' apartment to Coogee.

We love Coogee beach, it is so clean, it has a library, and it has an ocean bath pool near the beach.

We should have this also in Indonesia: a beach library! |

We had super fun at Coogee |

When you visit Coogee beach in Sydney, do not forget to try the Chish and Fish. We shared one big portion for the four of us.

Glad that our Kiddos had enjoyed their first Airbnb experience, and they wrote a message for Nicholas before we left his house.
Thank you Nicholas, if we ever go back to Sydney again (we would love to!), we will definitely stay at your apartment again:)
