This is one of our target for this visit to Singapore: to go all the way up to The Sands Sky Park. When we prepared the itinerary, we couldn't find direct bus that links our budget hotel to The Marina Bay Sands. So we asked the hotel staff how to go there. The lady gave us a map and recommend us to walk. She said it's 15 minutes walking distance. And she often recommend guest to walk so that guest may see a lot of things, the boat quay, the merlion, the esplanade than the marina bay sands.
When we entered marina bay sands (the malls), we were at the ice skating ring area. The mall was still brand new and some of the shops are not open yet.
Ok than, we followed her recommendation, walking to Marina Bay Sands. First we pass the Boat Quay, than the Fullerton, passing by using Fullerton's under pass, than voila, we were in front of Marina Bay Sands. But we still have to cross another two bridges, the esplanade bridge, and also the bridge that links the esplanade with the marina bay sands.
Yess we saw many things, but we had to walk about 40 minutes! It's quite far.. But if you want to take picture with the merlion and so on, the recommendation given by the hotel staff is valid. For me, I would rather take a taxi:p
Finally we reach the bridge that links the esplanade and the marina bay sands. Very impressive.
When we entered marina bay sands (the malls), we were at the ice skating ring area. The mall was still brand new and some of the shops are not open yet.
And we had to walk all the way to tower 3, where the sands sky park entrance is located. We passed by the hotel lobby in tower 3, as well as the reservation counter for Kudeta. Kudeta is a bar and resto up on the Sands Sky Park. If you wish to have dinner or lunch there, than you have to reserve first at the reservation counter.
Thank God the sands sky park is still open, we had to queue up just to go to the basement (buy the $20 sgd ticket), and also queueing up again to buy the ticket. The queue was quiet long as it's a peak period, but everything was amazingly in order.
Got our ticket, and we were directed to get on to the lift all the way up from Basement to 57th floor!! Yess, 57th!! And it took only 30 seconds. Woooowwww. Up at the peak was so windy, but the scenary was awesome. There was also a music live performance up there. By the way, we can also see the swimming pool of the Marina Bay Sands hotel..wondering how it feels to swim on the top of Singapore!
To get down from the sky park, again we have to queue up to take the lift down, and as I said previously, everything was totally in order. I suddenly compared it to how people getting up and down the Monas tower in Jakarta:p *sigh*
