I choosed to stay at The Carlton Singapore in December 2011 because of its location. Yes The Carlton Singapore is strategically located. It is only 5 minutes away to City Hall MRT station and only 2 minutes away to Bras Basah MRT station. It looks very modern from outside.
The lobby area is very spacious, the check in was fast, and even I checked in late at night, there were many hotel staffs stand by at the reception. The staffs were really helpful.
When I went inside the room, I was dissappointed as the room looks so old. I read from TA review there are two hotel wings, and I was sure that I got the old wing. At least the room was spacious, but compared to the price of this room, it's way too expensive.
Despite the room, the breakfast were great. The mosaic resto has a direct view to the street so while enjoying the food, I could also enjoyed the Singapore street in the morning.

After a whole day training, I went to Raffles City which is only minutes away from this hotel. I also walked to Funan the IT mall from the hotel.
If you don't mind paying the rate of this hotel, I would recommend this hotel because of its location. But as you have read this review, don't expect much too from the room.
