Review of Simplitel Hotel at Karon Phuket

This is the hotel we choosed for our Phuket May trip; Simplitel Hotel at Karon Phuket. As always, I search the hotel through Tripadvisor. Having read all the positive reviews of this hotel, we were sure that Simplitel Hotel at Karon Phuket will be a good hotel for us. By the way, we didn't want to stay at Patong area, because it is too crowded, and we didn't like the Patong beach. That's why we choose to stay at Karon instead.

We got their 40% off booking in advance rate. We booked the hotel in Feb 2012, 4 nights at the deluxe rooom cost IDR 450,000 (USD 45) per night including breakfast. The deluxe room was very spacious with a very clean bathroom, and also it has a balcony overlooking the hills, with the Big Budha on the top of it.

The hotel has an internet corner, fitness center, and also a cozy lobby area. We got also free wifi, but sometimes the connection was not really good, but it was not a big issue.

When we made the reservation thorugh the hotel website, we asked whether the breakfast was halal. They replied our email saying that the breakfast is American Breakfast, but they will request the chef to prepare halal food for us. So every morning, the four of us got very special menu from their kitchen:)

Adjacent to the hotel there is a Family Mart, the hotel is located on the main road, with so many restaurants around. But it was hard to find halal food around the hotel except the banana pancake. So we had to go to Patong area to find halal food. It was 15 minutes away to Patong from the hotel, and a tuktuk cost 300 THB for four person.

It was only 5 minutes walk to the beautiful Karon beach from the hotel. And the hotel also provide beach towel in our room.

The hotel is also close to the beautiful  Karon temple.

We really enjoyed our stay at Simplitel Hotel at Karon Phuket, and would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Phuket. Thank you to all of the Simplitel Hotel staff for all of your help:)
