Free Playground in Singapore: Children's Garden at Gardens by The Bay

Since the unfavorable exchange rate of Indonesian Rupiah to Singapore Dollar, I planned to visit free playground in Singapore for our family trip. Especially because we had allocated our budget to buy entrance tickets to Legoland. Yup it was our Legoland trip, with one day transit in Singapore before we went back to Jakarta.

Jacob Ballas Children's Garden in Singapore Botanical Garden was on my list. And I was so happy when I knew that Gardens By The Bay had opened their Children's Garden in January 2014. I switched the itinerary from Jacob Ballas to Gardens By The Bay. Hopefully we will visit Jacob Ballas on our next visit to Singapore.

We took MRT from City Hall to Bayfront MRT, and had to walk about 20 minutes from MRT to the Children's Garden. A colorful garden welcome us, and kiddos ran into the garden when they saw the waterplay area.

It's a must visit :)

Here are some tips you should know before visiting Children's Garden at Gardens By The Bay:

1) Come at around 5 pm to avoid the heat.

Singapore is very hot at midday, we arrived at 5 pm and enjoyed a cool climate. We started our walk from The Dragonfly lake, took the escalator and walked passing a bridge with beautiful view to the Singapore Flyer and the two conservatories in Gardens by The Bay.

Can you see the dragonfly?
For me, it's  the most beautiful garden in Singapore

2) Bring your kids swimming gear (swimsuit, towel, toiletries)

The waterplay area is the highlight of this Children's Garden. So make sure you bring all the things for your kiddos. There's also a changing room near the waterplay area.

Kiddos were having fun!

3) Stay until dark at Gardens By The Bay

After sunset, kiddos still played at the waterplay area. Unfortunately kiddos didn't have the time to visit the dry area. We missed the tree house and the playground. Well, we have another reason to visit Gardens By The bay.

When the lights were on, the waterplay area looks amazing, and not too mention the Supertree Groove. You can also enjoy a daily free show called OCBC Garden Rhapsody at 07.45 and 08.45 pm.

We didn't see the OCBC Garden Rhapsody that night, because we wanted to see the free lasrshow at Marina Bay Sands the Shoppes at 8 pm.

It was a great experience to play at the Children's Garden - Gardens by The Bay. This place is highly recommended if you are visiting Singapore with your family.
