Finally I made it to Warung Kopi Kong Djie on my 3rd visit to Belitung. Kong Djie is known as the most famous coffee in Belitung, located in the heart of town. However, we always skip this place because of limited time we had on our previous weekend getaway to Belitung.
This time was different, we stayed at a budget hotel called Hotel Lux Melati, and it was only meters away from Kong Djie Coffee. There was no reason to skip Warung Kopi Kong Djie:p
"Anyone going to Kopi Kong Djie?" I sent a whatsapp message to my friends. It was 6 a.m, no one replied my whatsapp (: So I left the hotel and walked to Warung Kopi Kong Djie with mr.husband.
A very old coffee shop in town |
Don't judge the coffee by the exterior of Warung Kopi Kong Djie. The place is small but very vintage and unique. You may choose to sit inside or outside. Lucky us, we still got the table outside, near the street. Kong Djie may look very old, but they do provide free wifi:D
Wow, Kong Djie was established since 1943! |
You don't need wifi here, you need good friends to hang out at Kong Djie |
We ordered black coffee (for mr.husband), and a cup of coffee with milk for me. Yes the coffee taste awesome, but it was too strong for me. So I asked for a hot tea, and the tea was also really good! I recommend you to order both Kong Djie's coffee and tea. Well, not to mention the snacks.

From a really modest kitchen at Kong Djie, came a good coffee, tea and snacks. I took a picture of their kitchen as well, just to give you an idea how it looks like.

At the end of our visit, like everyone else, I took picture in front of this famous coffee shop. When I was home, I couldn't stop laughing when I saw my pictures. LOL.
Why was he looking at me like that? |
Oeps, he's approaching:D |
After my first visit to Kong Djie, I will make sure that Kong Djie Coffee will always be in our itinerary on our next visit(s) to Belitung.
