Darling Harbour Sydney

On our first day in Sydney, we made a walking tour started from the Paddy's Market, Darling Harbour, Circular Quay, The Rocks and the Botanical Garden. Our walking tour in The Rocks is posted here. We took bus from Kensington to Central Station, then walk to Paddy's market

We only visited the souvenirs section of the market. The souvenirs sold are almost the same with souvenirs we saw at the Queen Victoria Market of Melbourne. And surprisingly almost at the same price. We thought that the souvenirs in Queen Victoria Market was cheaper.

We continued our walking tour to Darling Harbour, and went to the Sydney Information Center to take some brochures and asked regarding the Sydney New Years Eve vantage points. But we were recommended to access the website.

We enjoyed taking pictures at Darling Harbour. We were amazed on how this place is so kids friendly. Huge playground, water playground, the train.. well, it's definitely a must visit place when you are taking kiddos to Sydney.

We also visited Hard Rock cafe to buy its pin for rene's collection. There's also a monorail around Darling Harbour area which will be terminated by June 2013.

There are many cafes and restaurant around the harbour, and also many Australian flags. Actually this was the first time I saw Australian flag since I arrived in Australia:p

On the next day, we visited Darling Harbour once again to enjoy the Saturday night fireworks. It was a really great fireworks show! You can check the schedule here and ensure you arrive at the harbour side 30 minutes prior to the schedule, to get the best spot.

Darling Harbour was very crowded on Saturday night, the right place to spend your Saturday night in Sydney.
