I was so happy that I had a chance to visit the hometown of my fave sate Padang which I usually eat inside malls in Jakarta:p Yes it was Sate Mak Syukur at Padangpanjang. We stopped by on our way from Padang to Bukittinggi. As a big fan of sate padang, I have always wanted to visit this place.
The original Sate Mak Syukur |
We choose a table on the second floor and enjoyed the fresh air and the view from the balcony while waiting for our Sate Padang to be served. Rumah Gadang (padangnese house) is everywhere.
I went to the kitchen to see how the waiter prepared our meal. He grilled the satay, took them to be placed on the plates and also prepared smaller plates for the thick sauce. So the satay and the sauce came in different plates.

And here we go, Sate Padang Mak Syukur for our group. Everyone took satay and gave the sauce on the top of the satay, and of course took the crackers to dip it into the thick sauce. It was really good, taste better than their branches in Jakarta.
A visit to Bukittinggi is not complete without visiting Sate Mak Syukur. And because I was too excited to visit this place, I think this post is not complete without my picture in front of Sate Mak Syukur:D
