Review of Pinewood Lodge Queenstown

It was frustrating to find a place to stay for our family in Queenstown New Zealand during summer time within our budget (NZD 150 per night). Hotels located in the heart of Queenstown were expensive during the peak period, whilst motels weren't cheap either. We preferred to stay in a motel in order to be able to cook our meals. After hours spent to search for a hotel in booking.com we finally choose The Pinewood Lodge, a lodge with a decent review on tripadvisor. We got a unit for four person cost NZD 120 per night.

We drove from the city center to Pinewood Lodge on our first day, it took only about 5 minutes by car. Then we parked our car near their reception area. One thing I learned from check-in process in New Zealand, guests are not required to present passport. It is different than its neighbour country, Australia.

The Reception of Pinewood Lodge

Waiting for the check-in process, kiddos played trampoline located just next to the reception. Everyday kiddos requested to jump in this trampoline in the morning and when we got back to the hotel in the evening.

happy with the trampoline

Pinewood Lodge is surrounded by a pine forest, which made it was so green and peaceful around the area. It has ample parking place, handy for us who rented car for our roadtrip.

A lovely park at Pinewood Lodge

It was a really nice surprise when we saw our unit called "Millhouse". Though it was an old house with old furniture inside, we loved our new home at Queenstown.

our lovey Millhouse

The surrounding of Millhouse is also great, we had a picnic table in front of our unit.

Let's have picnic here

There are two rooms inside Millhouse, the main bedroom consist of two queen size bed, and also one child room consist of a bunk bed. Maximum adult included in the room price is up to 4 person.

There's also a living room and kitchen with dining room inside Millhouse.

Indomie for dinner:D

Considering all the facilities we got in Millhouse, the rate we paid to stay at Pinewood Logde was really worth it. We recommend this lodge for your upcoming trip to New Zealand. Check the room option at their website. They also have dorm if you travel by yourself.
