Things To Do in Kuala Lumpur International Airport ('KLIA') With Kids

Just few weeks ago, we had a shocking airlines promo offering cheap tickets departing from Kuala Lumpur to many countries. For example, Qatar Airways offered Kuala Lumpur to Europe for only IDR 4 mio for a return trip!

Back in January 2016, we had also bought Qatar Airways promo for our #TurkiyeFamTrip. The discount was available only for flight from Kuala Lumpur, and not from Jakarta's airport.

As all the full airline service which have been giving discount are departing from Kuala Lumpur International Airport ('KLIA') and not from KLIA2, it is important to find alternative flights from Jakarta to KLIA. One of them is Malindo Air, who has just moved from KLIA2 to KLIA starting March 2016. Malindo Air is a full airline service, so you will be entitled to a 30kg luggage. Visit Traveloka if you'd like to book your separate flight from Jakarta to Kuala Lumpur.

KLIA is huge, it has a train which linked different terminals. If it's going to be your first transit at KLIA for your family holiday, I will share with you things to do in KLIA with your kids.

The seats at KLIA are comfortable enough to sleep, just remember to bring your neck pillow

1. Take Picture With The Miniature Planes

You will find an exhibition of miniature planes at KLIA. And if you have boys, they will love all of the planes! By the way, we could also see our beloved Garuda Indonesia miniature plane at KLIA:)

2. Shop at Kidz Smart Tunnel

KLIA2 has a Toys 'R' Us, while at KLIA, they have a big toy store called Kidz Smart Tunnel. Of course this is our Kiddos' favorite shop at KLIA!

We found a giant Baymax :)

3. Buy Lots of Chocolate!

There are many chocolate stores at KLIA, including the most expensive one, Godiva. Usually we just buy some chocolate for snacking through our flight.

4. Ride The Train at KLIA

Taking the train after the flight at KLIA is a very enjoyable thing to do. If you don't get your seat because the train is full, you can always sit on the side of the window. But bear in mind to hold your kids, as the train is fast and it gave a rollercoaster feel when the train made its turn right or left:D

So happy to be board on the train

5. Never Miss The Chance To Visit Lonely Planet Bookstore at KLIA

Yup, I will never miss visiting the lonely planet bookstore at KLIA. Especially because we don't have this store in Jakarta.

They have a full range of Lonely Planet books, as well as your travelling gears. Just remember not to miss your flight when you visit this store:D
