My first time ever visiting Palu, the capital city of Central Sulawesi. And my first culinary experience in Palu was eating their Kaledo which stands for "Kaki Lembu Donggala" (may I translate it as "cow's leg from Donggala"?). Well from the name of the food, I knew it wasn't my fave food at all, but I tried it anyway (for the sake of writing this post:p), sharing my half portion with a friend. So here's my Kaledo soup.
The soup is a bit spicy, and to my surprise I like this Kaledo, even though I was really picky only eating the red meat, and not the fat. We didn't eat our Kaledo with rice, instead we ate it with singkong rebus (boiled cassava). It was somehow a perfect match.
We ate our Kaledo at this small resto located on Jl. Soekarno Hatta. I warned you there were many flies at the resto, I was realy busy eating while my other hand were waving to keep the flies away.
If you go to Palu, I might say that trying Kaledo is a must and remember to eat your Kaledo with the cassava.
