Based on the feedback I read from Female Daily JB Forum whereas most members recommend Citrus Hotel, I sent email to Citrus Hotel asking if we could add an extra bed to their triple room. The email was responded promptly but too bad that they couldn't provide the extra bed, due to the hotel policy.
Actually we had booked via booking.com a quadruple room at Eight Days Hotel with a decent review in tripadvisor. But during the planning, we decided to stay close to JB Sentral, for the sake of getting close with the bus terminal at JB Sentral.
I searched via google map, the closest hotel with Citrus Hotel providing a quadruple room, from the map that I saw was "Hanya Satu Hotel". I checked through Agoda, on our first night the quadruple room was available for IDR 600,000 nett per night. But on the second night the hotel was full.
As my SOP in choosing a hotel, I look for a review from tripadvisor members, but that time there wasn't any reviews of this hotel at Tripadvisor (P.S. now you can read my review of Hanya Satu Hotel at tripadvisor in this link). We booked the hotel anyway, because it was the only hotel offering a quadruple room.
Hanya Satu Hotel is only 5 minutes away from City Square Mall, and a 3 minutes walking from Citrus Hotel. This is the exterior look of the hotel, it is stated at the sign "Rumah Tumpangan".
It is located in a really live area of Johor Bahru, many shops, restaurant and even massage on the street! And after a long day, we tried the massage and it was nice.
seven eleven is near the hotel |
a muslim restaurant at the corner of the street |
a good area for Durian lovers |
foot reflexology for RM 25 per 45 minutes..and yes on the street! |
The lobby of the hotel was ok, each of us got a towel upon check-in, and we had to pay a refundable deposit of RM 20 for the four of us. There's internet area which is hourly rented at the lobby. But as the guests we got a free wifi throughout the hotel.
the hallway to our room |
Our quadruple room was quiet spacious, with two queen beds. The wifi was fast at our room, the aircon was really cold and we could watch TV3 from the television:p There is a window at the room, but the window is covered by the sign of the hotel.
The bathroom was basic with only shower and the toilet. The cleanliness of the bathroom need to be improved, and also the water heater, as it was not working when we were there.
For a one night stay, I might say this hotel is ok, especially when you shared with four person, each would only pay USD 15 per night for the room. And being located really central in Johor Bahru, this is a very good bargain.
the view when you step out from the hotels' lobby |
Now if you ask me will I stay with kiddos here? I would answer that I prefer a hotel with a pool when we visit Johor Bahru someday. And I will choose a hotel with a pool close to JB Sentral, one of the option would be the Grand Bluewave Hotel. Actually there's a great hotel called Renaissance Hotel, but we will need to rent a car to explore JB if we stay at Renaissance Hotel.

http://www.tesyaskinderen.com/2015/03/mencari-penginapan-di-sekitar-kl-sentral.html
ReplyDeleteCari hotel yg deket JB Sentral kalo gitu, Citrus Hotel salahs atu alternatifnya.
Hehe..
Mba Tesya sy mau minta info, klo subuh2 sktr jam 4.30 mau naik taksi dr hotel sktr jb sentral ke airport Senai susah ngak ya
DeleteMba kalo bawa anak yg jalannya ga terlalu jauh dr jb central hotel apa ya?
ReplyDeleteCitrus Hotel Mba kalau mau budget, kalau mau yg mahal ada Double Tree By Hilton (baru).
Seru Mas. Walopun saya belum sempat ajak Kiddos naik sleeper train. Dulu saya naik ini sama my friends.
2. Atau bisa juga naik bus.
3. Hotel budget berapa Mas?
halo mba tesya
ReplyDeletemau tanya dong, kalo T Hotel JB jauh ga ya kalo jalan kaki ke JB sentral? dan bagus ga ya mba kira-kira? hehe
Wah Mba, aku enggak tau T Hotel tuh dimana..
ReplyDeleteBisa 5-6 jam, Mba.
DeleteHai Tesya, kl quad room utk handuk dan sabun dll buat 4 org? Kamarnya & kamar mandinya bersih ga? Mengecewakan ga minap d hanya satu? Tq ya
ReplyDeleteHai Mbak Leny, kayanya aku bawa handuk dan sabun sendiri deh.
DeleteKamar mandinya kurang bersih, jadi sebelum pake, kita bersihin dulu sendiri hehe. Tapi enggak parah-parah amat sih.
Karena dulu kita inep sana berempat ibu-ibu sih asik asik aja, tapi kalau bawa anak, kasian kali ya sama sekali ga ada hiburan hehe..
