Review of Tune Hotel Danga Bay - Johor Bahru

We have stayed in several Tune Hotels before: Tune Hotel Legian, Tune Hotel Downtown Kuala Lumpur and Tune Hotel LCCT. When we knew that Tune Hotel Danga Bay provide a shuttle service to Legoland, we decided to book a one night stay there.

The hotel is huge compared to other Tune hotels that I have visited before. If you are looking for a budget hotel for your family holiday to Legoland, I hope this post could give you some idea about Tune Hotel Danga Bay.

We took this picture from our taxi
We made our reservation through their website, we were fortunate that the quadruple room was still available. We booked one quadruple room for MYR 140 (tax and aircon included: the quadruple room price include aircon). We thought that it will be one room for the four of us. But we were wrong, I will share about the room later on.

Review of Thistle Hotel Johor Bahru

I fell in love with the exterior of Thistle Hotel Johor Bahru. I saw the hotel for the first time on our way to Johor Premium Outlet. I would like to take picture in front of the big clock located on a field in front of Thistle Hotel. I thought sunset would be the perfect time to take the picture.

I read the review on tripadvisor and saw the pool of Thistle. I book the hotel directly after I saw the pool, it was awesome! I made the reservation through booking.com and booked the cheapest room (city view room) without breakfast for MYR 290 include tax.

Bus TS1 from Changi Airport to Johor Bahru

Our flight from Jakarta to Singapore by Air Asia landed in Changi airport at 8 am (meaning 7 am Indonesian time). Yes, it was so early! We had to go from our house to the airport at 3 am.

We intended to go to Mustafa first, but with our backpack and kiddos around (especially this time we travel as a group consist of 3 families:p), we decided to go directly from Changi to Johor Bahru by Transtar Cross Border Service or TS1 bus.

Review of Parkroyal on Kitchener Road Singapore

I have passed Parkroyal hotel many times, and always wanted to stay at their hotel located on Beach Road. Unfortunately with the hike of Singapore Dollar exchange rate to Indonesia Rupiah, I choose budget hotel when I travel on my own to Singapore.

So this time I had another training in Singapore and my friend who was organizing my flight and accommodation asked what hotel I choose. I didn't had a chance to browse anything, and suddenly this Parkroyal on Kicthener Road came across my mind. Not only it was near the training venue but also it was only one minute away to Mustafa shopping center, which opens 24 hours:p

Surabaya Food Street at Midnight: Pasar Genteng Night Market

Is there really a night market in Pasar Genteng Surabaya?

Actually I am not sure to call it a night market. We visited this place after I picked up Rene at the Surabaya airport. As I extended my business trip, Rene came to Surabaya and flown with "an after office hour flight" on Friday night. We were looking for a place to have our late supper, and after googling "wisata kuliner malam di Surabaya" (Surabaya's culinary at night) we decided to go to Pasar Genteng.

Food stalls in front of Pasar Genteng greeted us warmly with the fire from each stall. It was almost midnight but the area was still crowded. The variety of food confused us, which one to choose?

Welcome to Pasar Genteng at midnight:)
