Merchants Lane KL: Instagrammable Restaurant To Find Halal Food In Kuala Lumpur

I have been eying this cute restaurant in Petaling Street area for a while, and when I got a chance to go to Kuala Lumpur, this place was my number one on my itinerary.

Located inside an old building, Merchants Lane was hard to find. On the first attempt we were directed by a staff of neighbouring restaurant to the green door of Merchants Lane.

But the effort was well worth it. This place has a beautiful interior, great ambience and yummy food. Just like the sign at the bar: "THIS MUST BE THE PLACE"

Yes, this must be the place!

The Location Of Merchants Lane & How To Get There

Petaling Street which is Kuala Lumpur's Chinatown is packed with old buildings but most of them are well maintained. Walking along the street, you will be surprised to find a different world inside Merchants Lane.

We were following the direction of google map to walk from Pasar Seni LRT Station to Merchants Lane. But after my experience of getting lost, I would recommend you to take exit A at Pasar Seni MRT (instead of LRT).

From the exit, Merchants Lane is only 5 minutes away. It is located on the second floor of Kiat Leong shop, which is just next to ATC (Advance Tertiary College).

Could you spot the green door just nest to the shop?
Let's go inside :)

Let's Enjoy The Food & Coffee

We had a late breakfast that day, so we decided to order snack and dessert. The Port Klang is one of their favourite menu, as we could see almost everyone order it. While for the sweet tooth, we order Better Than Sex, pancakes with almond and strawberry on the top.

Merchants Lane has many variety of food, not that cheap but still affordable, come in big portion and taste really good.

Port Klang, a must try

Not only the food, the coffee was good too.

Take Loads of Picture At Merchants Lane

This place is very instagram worthy, every corner is so lovely. You may sit indoor or outdoor. We choose to sit indoor as it was really hot that day. And the cafe was packed on the weekend.

How about the outdoor area? It is also very cute, they even put monkey sculpture on the tree :)

And do not forget to take picture on the swing, located at the back of the restaurant. Next time you go to Kuala Lumpur, make sure to visit Merchants Lane.
