Boxing Day in Melbourne

We heard from our friend Martin Handy about all the shopping madness during the boxing day in Australia, and were suggested to shop during that day as there will be discounts everywhere! So when we made our itinerary in Australia, we decided to go back to Melbourne from Tasmania on 26th Dec. Especially to enjoy the boxing day in Melbourne:p

We arrived at our hostel in Melbourne at 11.30 am, left our luggage, and went directly to the Bourke Street. It was really crowded, so many people around to do their shopping.

We went to Myer because they offered second toys purchase 60% off. We had to queue just to get on the escalator in Myer! For me, the price was not cheap even after the discount. The good thing was, we could find Fireman Sam toys here for our kiddos :)

Outside Myer, people were also queueing to see the display of Myer christmas. windows.

We didn't shop a lot, we went out of Myer and tried to find something for our late lunch. We stopped by in a Malaysian restaurant on Swanston Street and had a very huge portion of Laksa! Perfect.. just what we needed:)

After our visit to St.Kilda, we went back to Bourke Street to do our last minute shopping:p The Myer Christmas windows look great with the lights. Myer opens until 12 am on the boxing day. Make sure you take pictures of the beautiful Christmas windows at Myer.
