Warung Kopi Kong Djie (Kong Djie Coffee) Belitung

Finally I made it to Warung Kopi Kong Djie on my 3rd visit to Belitung. Kong Djie is known as the most famous coffee in Belitung, located in the heart of town. However, we always skip this place because of limited time we had on our previous weekend getaway to Belitung.

This time was different, we stayed at a budget hotel called Hotel Lux Melati, and it was only meters away from Kong Djie Coffee. There was no reason to skip Warung Kopi Kong Djie:p

"Anyone going to Kopi Kong Djie?" I sent a whatsapp message to my friends. It was 6 a.m, no one replied my whatsapp (: So I left the hotel and walked to Warung Kopi Kong Djie with mr.husband.

Morning Glory Coffee Bandung

This is why I love Bandung: there are so many new cafes and restaurants to try! Like the one I found near Riau Street: Morning Glory Coffee.

I often pass Jalan Cempaka Bandung whenever I buy Bandung's snack at Prima Rasa. One day, I notice there's a restaurant I have never been to, called Morning Glory Coffee on Jalan Cempaka. It is located just accross the "Taman Foto Bandung" or Bandung's Photography Park.

The next weekend since I saw Morning Glory Coffee, I decided to have lunch before heading back to Jakarta. We parked our car at Taman Foto Bandung and crossed the road to Morning Glory Coffee or MG&CO for short.

Ibis Bali Kuta: Budget Hotel Near Bali's Airport

We had a one night stop over at Bali, before our Air Asia flight to Perth. I asked mr.husband whether we were going to stay at Bali's airport or at a hotel near Bali's Airport, to wait for our flight. He said as long as we could eat our favorite Bubur Laota, it doesn't matter for him:D

Then I remember Ibis Bali Kuta which is located just across Bubur Laota. I checked Ibis Bali Kuta's website, and the price on weekday was IDR 300,000 per night. Very cheap, for a budget hotel like Ibis :)

We took taxi from airport, and just few minutes later we arrived at Ibis Bali Kuta. The hotel looks beautiful at night with all the lights.

Welcome to Ibis Bali Kuta

Armor Kopi Bandung : A Coffee Shop Inside a Forest

Planning another weekend getaway in Bandung, and wondering what's another place that is "must visit" in Bandung? One of the most famous and most "instagramable" place is probably this coffee shop inside a forest in Dago Area (Taman Hutan Raya Djuanda), called Armor Kopi Bandung.

I've heard about Armor Kopi Bandung so many times, but as it was too far away from my house in Bandung. I postponed my visit until last weekend, when we had a chance to stay at Padma Hotel Bandung. Waiting for our check-in time, we stopped first at Armor Kopi Bandung.

Armor Kopi opened at 8 am on Saturday, so it was perfect for morning people like us, who usually arrive in Bandung at 7.30 whenever we spend a weekend in Bandung. A fresh air and greenery welcomed us as we stepped into Taman Hutan Raya Djuanda. Entrance fee was IDR 10,000 per person and IDR 14,000 for the car, which was paid at the entrance gate of Taman Hutan Raya Djuanda.

A perfect place to start your weekend in Bandung

Nara Deer Park - Day Trip From Kyoto

Nara Deer Park which is easily accessed from Kyoto was on the top of our Japan's itinerary. Going to a temple having hundreds of deers will be awesome for our Kiddos' experience.

We decided to do a day trip from Kyoto, and as we had learned that we could take a train from JR Inari Station to Nara, we planned to go to Nara after our visit to Fushimi Inari.

I told mr.husband that from what I read, we should not take a local train from Kyoto to Nara, as it will be stopping in 21 stations, and add a 25 minutes extra to our journey to Nara.

Belitung On Budget: 2 Days 1 Night For IDR 550,000

It started when I and my friends had lunch at Yoshinoya located near our office. Out of nowhere, my friends talked about celebrating one year anniversary of our Singapore trip. Of course, the next question was: "When and where will our next weekend getaway be?"

Belitung came across our discussion, and everyone agreed that Belitung will be our next destination! During our lunch, we checked the airline ticket on any weekend in February 2016. A return ticket was IDR 750,000 per person at the end of February. Not bad at all! Especially for me, I redeem my Garuda Miles, so I only paid Citilink ticket Jakarta-Belitung for IDR 350,000 and tax+surcharge on my Garuda Belitung-Jakarta ticket for IDR 130,000.

Our 2 days 1 night in Belitung cost IDR 550,000 per person. It includes: van hire for two days, boat hire, snorkeling gears, lunch at Pulau Kepayang, tips for driver, tips for the boatman and a one night bed and breakfast. The more the merrier, and of course cheaper! Our group consist of 12 person, and we shared most of our expenses.

One and a half month after our lunch at Yoshinoya, we were in Belitung :)

Kafetaria 170 Bandung

If you are heading to Bandung or going back to Jakarta from Bandung via Pasteur toll gate, you can stop for a while to have some snacks or even enjoying your breakfast, lunch or dinner at Kafetaria 170.

Kafetaria 170 is located on Jalan Pasir Kaliki, very close to Pasteur toll gate. However, if the traffic is bad, you may need 30-45 minutes from and to Pasteur toll gate.

This restaurant is very eye catching, not only because of its cute look, but also because the parking place is so limited, resulting traffic jam near the Kafetaria 170, most of the time.

What an eye catching building on Jalan Pasir Kaliki
