Senado Square Macau

Two words two describe Macau: very impressive! You must go to Macau...it offers something different than Hongkong.

We went first to Senado Square (Largo do Senado) , which is the icon of Macau. All the neo classical buildings were colored in pastel (also the con blocks) creating a consistent and harmonious Mediterranean atmosphere. Beside visiting historical buildings, you may also find shops in Senado. Esprit, Bossini, Giordano, Crocs, Body Shop, Sasa, and also many many cafes and resto. Of course with very limited halal food available:p All the price are about the same with Hongkong's price, and also we can pay our shopping with Hongkong dollar. It's a really perfect place to take pictures, hang out and to do some shopping. No wonder that we spent hours at Senado.

We stoppped at one of the ice cream shops, and enjoy a really nice ice cream.

Don't forget to try the egg taart. Macau is very famous with its egg taart. The most famous shop which sell egg taart is Pastelaria Koi Kei. Many tourists comeback from Macau bring boxes of egg taart. We only tried one piece. Dini and Rene love it so much that they want to come back to Macau just to buy the egg taart hehehe..

There's also another Macau's icon at Senado Square which is Ruins of St.Pauls (Ruinas de S.Paulo). This I quoted from the brochure: The Ruins of St.Paul's refer to the facade of what was originally the Church of Mater Dei built in 1602-1640, destroyed by fire in 1835, and the ruins of St.Paul's College, which stood adjacent to the church. Nowadays the facade of the Ruins of St.Paul's functions symbolically as an altar to the city.

After taking so many pictures at Senado Square, we continue our trip to Macau Tower. There should be a bus that could take us to the Macau Tower, but we had to walk back to the bus stop. So we decided to take taxi this time. It cost only HKD 25 from Ruins of St.Pauls to Macau Tower.

We love Senado square so much...hope we'll come back someday :)
